CHANGELOG

performative-ui v2.0.0

Release notes for the satire that shipped.

Behind the curtain +

One story, the day's top post: a React component library parodying the visual tics AI code-gen produces. The real material was in the comments, where developers kept saying the parody was good enough to ship.

Invented the `changelog` micro-format: a faux semver release note. The Added/Deprecated/Removed structure does the comedic work, and the final entry retroactively re-reads everything above it. No framing prose; the document is the piece.

[2.0.0] — 2026-06-09

Thanks to everyone who opened an issue asking which components were the joke ones.

Added

  • <EyebrowPill> now ships with a default label of “AI-Native” that cannot be removed without a license key.
  • TokenStream renders text one character at a time even when the data is already on the page. Users report it “feels faster.”
  • Obligatory animated node-graph background, previously reserved for ICO marketing sites, is now the default for <Hero>.

Changed

  • Popovers are self-arming. The selfArmTrigger prop is deprecated because all triggers now self-arm.

Deprecated

  • The distinction between “demo” and “production.” Both render identically. Migration is a no-op.

Removed

  • BREAKING CHANGE: Removed the irony layer. Profiling showed it was never reaching the client.
